Real Madrid has made history as the first team to win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles on Saturday.

Real Madrid defeated Juventus 4-1 at the 2016/17 Champions League final at the Millennium stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The Zinedine Zidane’s men as become the first team to retain their status as European champions with the competition in its current format.

Real Madrid have now won 12 of their previous 14 European Cup/UCL finals, more than any other team in history and a third in four seasons.

Real Madrid and Juventus featured in the first-ever indoor Champions League final as UEFA decided to close the roof for security reasons.

It was an entertaining first half that saw Juventus started brightly, but conceded a goal against the run of play when Cristiano Ronaldo finished with a move in which the Italian side’s defence were carved open with uncharacteristic ease in the 20th minute.

Ronaldo’s 104th Champions League goal never lasted long as Mario Mandzukic equalised with an unreal overhead kick in the 27th minute.

Casemiro fired Real into second half lead with a swerving, dipping effort from distance that bounced on the line as it scraped in in the 61st minute.

Ronaldo scored his 105th and 12th 2016/17 Champions league in the 63rd minute to extend Real’s lead.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the 1st player to score a brace in a UCL final since Diego Milito for Inter V Bayern in 2010.

Marcelo beat his man and pulled the ball back across the box for Marco Asensio, who coolly tapped into the corner of the goal for Real’s fourth in the 90th minute.
